Airtel Launches New 3G Plan That Can Be Shared Between 3 Devices

In August Airtel had come with a new jingle, which endorsed sharing between friends. The lyrics of the jingle went on like... "Jo mera hai woh tera hai Jo tera hai woh mera" meaning what's mine is yours and what's yours is mine. Now, the company is applying the same concept of sharing in its 3G plan as well.
India's leading telecom brand has announced a new 3G data plan for the customers, which allows one to share unlimited data usage amongst two of their friends or family members or among three of his/her own devices.

Under the Airtel's Data Share Plan, the subscriber will have to shell out Rs. 1000 per month and can use 3G data on up to three smart devices. There is a cumulative cap of 5GB, on exhaustion of which the Airtel user can continue to use unlimited data but at the speed of 80KB per second.

This Data Share Plan is open to all Airtel subscribers (be it postpaid subscriber or a prepaid one) but all the three connections should belong to the same telecom circle.

To subscribe to this plan, the subscribers can either click here or subscribe via sending an SMS.

Though on the surface, it looks Airtel is promoting the idea of sharing 3G data between family and friends but it will also be beneficial for people who have more than one connected device and are looking at having a unified data bill for all the devices. Irrespective of how the subscribers uses this plan, this is a good initiative to increase the number of 3G devices in the country and hopefully other operators will follow suit.

Few Signs That Your Computer is Infected with Viruses

One common question we here is “how do I know I have a virus?” Well here are a few clues or Signs.

  • Everything slows down and feels sluggish.  You might find the computer is running harder in order to perform the simplest tasks, and it may feel hotter die to the amount of energy it is using.
  • Starting up the computer takes a long time. You could have malware which needs to be started up at the same time, slowing everything down. You can check to see which programs start up when your computer does by clicking on the start menu, then run and type in MSCONFIG and start up. If there is anything you don’t recognise this could be a virus or malware. Google the name of the file to check if it is anything legitimate.
  • If you have more toolbars on your browser that is a good indicator that spyware has been downloaded. The spyware will track how you use the computer and gather information about you.
  • Your browser crashes frequently will definitely be a case of an infection.  You may find that your homepage is changed which is caused by the hijacker trying to send you to a website which is infected.
  • Your browser loads to a page you aren’t searching for. You can be sure your computer has been hijacked and infected if the address bar isn’t loading the page you have requested.
  • When you try to access your folder options you may not be able to if you have a virus. Check by going into My Computer, clicking tools followed by folder options.  See if you can access the hidden and system files or if they are read only. You can change them from this window if the virus has been removed, but if it hasn’t you will need to do a scan and delete the infected files first.
  • Type in the name of your hard drive followed by :/autorun.inf into your search bar in the start-up menu.  You have a virus if this opens into a notepad file and has an unidentified file or EXE reference.

India Developing Its Own Secure OS

India Developing Its Own Secure OS

Representatives of India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) have revealed that the organization is working in collaboration with other institutions on developing a secure operating system.
According to The Times of India, 150 engineers from all across the country have already been working on the project for over one year and a half, but it will take another three before the operating systems can be rolled out.The director general of the DRDO has explained that India needs its own operating system to strengthen cyber security.
He has emphasized that the current operating systems used in India, regardless whether they’re Windows or Linux-based, contain numerous security holes. That’s why it’s “essential” that the country develops its own.

The official has also noted the fact that this is solely India’s project, no foreign entities being involved.

Grand Theft Auto V will Have Sharks And Submarines

Gamers are always eager for any information that's related to Rockstar's upcoming open-world epic, Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar has released new screenshots for what is all set to be one of the biggest releases of 2013.

Grand Theft Auto V

The screenshots show some of the regular stuff, like cityscapes and cars, but the more interesting things shown include a submarine and a shark. Rockstar had previously mentioned that the game would have more to explore underwater, and it seems to be delivering on this promise with the inclusion of deadly sharks and submarines. The screenshots also some great attention to detail when it comes to the graphical fidelity of the game, like being able to make out the pilots in planes. The game also seems to feature a blimp, which could be an interesting setting for a mission, or even an aerial chase sequence.

Last month, a ton of information about GTA V was revealed. Rockstar is now promising greater mission variety in GTA V. One of the biggest complaints faced by GTA IV was that most of the missions consisted of driving to a location, killing your target, driving back to a safe location, and repeat. According to Rockstar, some missions in GTA V will feature one playable character, while others will feature two or three. The game will also follow an Ocean's Eleven-type progression, where a lot of missions will be preparing for and pulling off complex heists.

When asked if features from the previous games will be making a comeback, such as underwater areas, the developers said that GTA V will have a lot of underwater areas to explore. The developers have also mentioned that none of the characters from GTA III, Vice City, or San Andreas will be making an appearance, but characters from GTA IV might visit the city.

Another interesting decision by Rockstar is having three playable characters that you can switch between at any moment. When asked if it is possible to complete the game using only one character, Rockstar said that it is not. The company has also said explicitly that there is no co-op gameplay in the main campaign.
